An xTool Material QR Code Is Not a TYVOK P2 Preset

An xTool material QR code identifies a workflow in xTool's ecosystem; it is not a TYVOK P2 setting. Use it to identify the blank and find supplier information, then obtain P2-specific guidance and test the exact approved material. Do not copy a percentage, speed or pass count merely because the material names match.

The current xTool watch-band listing describes scanning material information for its own software workflow. A buyer can reasonably value that convenience while still needing a separate process for a different machine. The code's presence does not certify the blank for every laser source.

Read the code as information before acting on it

First check the destination and the supplier's identity. Record the material name, article number, color and any construction revision. Distinguish the recommended machine and module from the material itself. If the page does not state a wavelength or complete construction, ask for clarification instead of treating an automated recommendation as universal.

An illustrative instruction saying “40%” is incomplete without knowing what source and control it refers to. Even two machines described as 10 W can differ in optics, focus, motion and software interpretation. The same is true of a depth slider: LaserPecker's percentage is not a measured P2 depth.

Build a small verified record

Once the supplier approves the exact material for the selected P2 source, use a spare piece for the documented test process. Save the machine configuration, focus method, source of the starting guidance and accepted result together. Write down the actual settings in their displayed units, rather than saving only a photo of the QR label.

The TYVOK P2 is a standard blue-diode galvo machine with configuration choices that must be checked when ordering. A supplier's fiber, infrared or CO2 preset cannot be made compatible by renaming it. If the required material is not approved for the standard P2 wavelength, choose another material or seek a demonstrated alternative process.

After a reorder, compare both the label and physical blank. The watch-band hole-revision check shows why identical packaging can still require a revised placement proof. Keep the earlier approved sample available for comparison, but do not use it as proof that a newly formulated blank is safe.

Can I paste an xTool preset into TYVOK software manually?

Typing the values does not establish equivalence. Use only settings that TYVOK or the material supplier has confirmed for the actual configuration, followed by an appropriate sample test.

Is a QR code required to engrave an otherwise approved blank?

No. What matters is reliable material identity, suitability and a demonstrated process. A plain supplier specification can provide those details without any scannable label.
