Long Board Project: Map the Largest Uninterrupted Engraving Zone

A long board fits only if its largest uninterrupted engraving zone, support arrangement and travel clearance fit the current configuration. Measure the design zone separately from the total board and plan every overhang before buying or expanding.

Measure artwork separately from board length

A current beginner discussion says larger work area becomes important as projects grow, while the live TYVOK page is required for any expansion dimensions. See the growing-workspace buyer discussion.

A long board may physically pass through the workspace while its artwork crosses an unsupported or unreachable zone. Marking the design span on the real board exposes that difference before hardware or stock is committed.

Continuous-zone fit sheet

Observed state Record beside it Next action
Board length End to end May exceed artwork
Design zone Largest continuous output span Primary fit measure
Support Table and overhang points No rocking
Travel Head, cable and frame envelope No obstruction

Include the support sketch with the board-zone dimensions. An operator reviewing the file later should see why board length produced 'May exceed artwork' and why design zone required 'Primary fit measure', with both observations tied to the same test date.

Draw supports and travel clearance

1. Mark the exact start and end of the uninterrupted artwork.

2. Measure board width, thickness, bow and unsupported overhang.

3. Compare the zone with the live-confirmed machine workspace.

4. Draw supports, cable travel, extraction and operator access.

5. Frame a full-size paper or scrap surrogate before the paid board.

Do the long-board boundary check unpowered first; no overhang may block travel, exhaust or immediate stop access.

Live X1S 2026 dimensions

Confirm the regional X1S 2026 package and expansion components on the live product page. Do not infer power, clearance or material performance from area alone. The live TYVOK X1S 2026 listing should be checked again before purchase or setup. Measure the actual board finish, thickness and bow before planning output.

Long-board questions

Is X1S 2026 exactly 800 × 2000 mm?

The live page presents an 800 × 800 mm starting setup and an expansion path up to 800 × 2000 mm where the selected configuration confirms it.

Can the board hang off the table?

Only with a stable planned support system that does not obstruct travel or supervision.

Does workspace equal usable art size?

Not automatically; margins, fixtures, setup and the actual configuration affect usable space.

A long-board fit decision should follow the coordinate proof in Large LightBurn Grid Shifts by Column: Check Start Position Mode. Large Sign Has Photo and Cutline: Set the Process Order First covers the operation order inside the accepted zone.

Approve the board plan when zone, support and travel all fit.
