Build a Logo Sample Box Before Pitching Local Businesses

A useful logo sample box proves a small number of repeatable material-and-size combinations. It does not prove demand, margin, or future order volume.

Choose samples by buyer decision

Include one logo at the smallest readable size, one typical size, and one challenging surface or shape only when that exact blank is identified and compatible. Keep the logo file constant. A six-piece box might use two eligible blank types at three sizes; it should not mix six unlabeled suppliers.

Sample ID Record on the card Why it matters
A-small Logo width, minimum text height Shows readability floor
A-typical Fixture datum, lot, finish Becomes the comparison sample
A-edge Curvature or placement clearance Reveals alignment risk
B series Separate supplier and lot Prevents false equivalence

Photograph each sample from a fixed camera position under the same light. Store the released vector version and identify any font converted to outlines. Record blank cost, proof time, cleaning, inspection, and packing separately. These figures define observed sample cost; they are not a revenue forecast.

P2 boundary for logo samples

The current P2 product page should be checked for available configuration, software, accessories, and regional details. P2 uses a 450 nm semiconductor blue-laser galvo workflow. Material and coating response must be qualified on the exact stock, and the machine must remain attended under current controls, extraction, and fire precautions.

When faces matter more than logos, Portrait Keychain Engraving: Crop for a Recognizable Face provides a final-size test. When a client requests several product forms, Low-Quantity Branded Goods: Build a Sample Matrix keeps each surface separate.

Buyer FAQ

How many logo samples are enough?

Use the fewest samples that cover the actual size, surface, and placement decisions. Add a sample when one of those variables changes.

Should every blank use the same settings?

No. Keep the artwork fixed, but qualify each identified material and coating independently.

Does an attractive box prove the order will be profitable?

No. It demonstrates specified output. Pricing must also include design, rejects, administration, packing, fees, and buyer demand.

Keep the box auditable

Place a short card behind every sample with the blank SKU, lot, logo width, artwork version, fixture ID, proof date, and acceptance note. Do not print machine values as a promise to reproduce the result on a substituted blank. When a sample ages, scratches, or changes color, retire it visibly rather than leaving it in the sales box. A customer should be approving an identified physical example, not an anonymous object that the production record can no longer trace.
