Print-test orientation and retention
The counters in A and O disappear completely without bridges. A bridge inventory converts an attractive screen image into a manufacturable stencil while making the visual tradeoff explicit.

Select film only from documents
- 1. Refuse unidentified film, PVC/vinyl, polycarbonate, and unknown adhesive or backing.
- 2. Switch to a high-contrast island view and inventory every enclosed region.
- 3. Assign bridge width from a supplier-confirmed sample ladder, not a universal number.
- 4. Print-test orientation, ink side, island retention, and cleanup before calling the stencil usable.

Can the laser hold an island with a tiny uncut tab?
Only if the tab survives cutting, handling, tension, and printing on the qualified material. Prove it on a sample.
Which side faces the ink?
That depends on the stencil system and screen process. Record the chosen orientation from the supplier/process owner.
Can a flame test identify plastic film?
No. Never use laser, flame, or burn testing to identify unknown film chemistry.
