CO2 vs Diode vs Galvo Laser Material Settings

A material settings table is only useful when the laser type is correct. CO2, diode, blue-laser galvo, and 1064 nm metal marking workflows behave differently, so the right TYVOK machine depends on the job.

Compact galvo blue laser

  • Use standard P2 for small gifts, cards, leather pieces, wood keepsakes, and coated items where compact setup matters.
  • Keep P2 2W around 20-30 mm/s and P2 10W around 30-50 mm/s for early quality tests.

1064 nm compact metal marking

  • Use P2 Ultra when the main job is metal marking rather than blue-laser personalization.
  • Metal marking can be much faster than standard P2 settings, but each metal finish still needs a test grid.

Diode gantry and CO2 workflows

  • Use X1S/X1S Pro for larger diode jobs such as wood signs, panels, leather cutting, opaque acrylic tests, and batch layouts.
  • Use K1 Pro 100W CO2 for clear acrylic, thicker acrylic, wood cutting, MDF, signage, and studio cutting work.

These are starter ranges, not guaranteed production presets. Test on scrap first, save the exact supplier and surface details, and keep unsafe materials such as PVC, vinyl, and unknown plastics out of the workflow.
