A TYVOK P2 purchase for custom dice should start with the exact blank, not the size of the name you want to add. A small acrylic cube can fit a compact engraving field yet still be a poor match for a blue diode because of its color, transparency, construction or face geometry. Ask for an evaluated sample of the intended dice before treating the machine as suitable for the job.
A buyer asking about dice for a D&D group described 19 mm blanks and asked about transparent plastic. That is a useful purchasing question, but neither the question nor a result on different plastic establishes what your dice will do.
Separate the plastic decision from the artwork decision
“Acrylic dice” is not a complete material specification. Obtain the actual polymer, pigment, coating and any embedded decoration from the supplier. Do not substitute an unidentified resin dice set because its appearance matches an acrylic listing. Clear and white acrylic are particularly poor assumptions for a blue-diode purchase; a dark appearance alone also does not prove compatibility.
The distinction between cast and extruded acrylic explains another material variable, although changing acrylic manufacturing type does not solve every wavelength or color limitation. For dice, the immediate requirement is approval of the exact finished blank and a demonstrated mark on it.

A 19 mm cube does not offer a 19 mm square for lettering
Make a paper outline of the usable flat face, excluding rounded shoulders and existing pips. Put the proposed character inside that outline at its final size. A design that looks generous in a screen enlargement may run into the curved edge on the real object.
For example, if a measured flat area is only 14 mm wide, that is the artwork boundary for the proof, even though the cube is sold as 19 mm. This is an illustration, not a standard dice dimension. Evaluate one face before planning six-sided work, and establish how the blank will be held without wobbling or placing a clamp in the beam path.
What the P2 listing can tell you
The current TYVOK P2 product page describes a compact galvo with blue-diode options. Standard P2 should not be confused with a fiber or CO2 laser, or with P2 Ultra. The listed working area does not guarantee access around a three-dimensional object; confirm the selected head, focus procedure and fixture clearance with TYVOK.
Keep a competitor recipe attached to its original machine. In particular, a LaserPecker depth percentage is not a millimeter specification you can use to promise the recess of an engraved pip.
Can I buy transparent dice now and find settings later?
That is a risky buying sequence. First establish the material and wavelength fit, then commission a sample. Do not rely on applying an unknown coating to make an unsuitable blank work.
Will engraving leave the dice balanced for play?
A readable mark does not establish balance. Treat fairness as a separate product requirement with an appropriate assessment; do not sell decorative personalized dice as precision-balanced solely because the engraving looks even.
