On-Site Engraving Station: Recheck Alignment After Transport

After transport, assume the station reference is unverified. Rebuild the documented setup and pass a disposable reference coupon before any customer blank enters the fixture.

Compare against a saved reference

Record the fixture corner, focus reference, framing boundary, coupon outline, and reference-mark center before pack-down. After moving, inspect fasteners, cables, guards, extraction connections, work surface stability, and clearance before power-up. Do not compensate for movement by dragging artwork until the mechanical and procedural checks are complete.

Check Comparison Hold condition
Fixture datum Saved photo and measured corner Fixture shift or damage
Framing Boundary stays inside coupon outline Any edge crosses the safe boundary
Focus Current documented procedure passes Uncertain height or reference
Reference mark Center matches accepted coupon Unexplained offset

A 0.5 mm shift matters when a 10 mm tag has only 1 mm clearance. Measure the permitted border from the artwork to every blank edge, then require the reference mark to remain within that written tolerance. Use an identified sacrificial blank, keep the laser attended, and follow current stop, guarding, extraction, and fire instructions.

What this check does not establish

The live P2 page must confirm the current configuration. A realignment proof does not show that P2 is portable, event-rated, or suitable for a public venue. Venue permission, controlled access, guarding, extraction discharge, fire planning, electrical supply, and public safety require separate qualified review.

Buyer FAQ

Does this prove P2 is portable, event-rated, or approved for public venues?

No. It proves only that one moved setup matched its alignment reference; all venue and public-safety questions remain separate.

Why recheck after a short move?

Fixture seating, focus reference, cabling, work-surface level, or extraction routing can change even when the machine looks unchanged.

Can I skip the coupon if framing looks correct?

No. Framing checks the boundary; the physical reference coupon checks the resulting placement.

Portable-workflow discussion

Use two independent alignment clues

The saved framing outline and the physical reference mark should agree. If framing appears correct but the mark shifts, stop and inspect fixture seating, focus reference, file origin, and current software state; do not hide the discrepancy by moving only the artwork. Photograph the coupon in the fixture before removing it. That image preserves which edge and datum were used, which is essential when the station is packed again or a different operator reconstructs the setup. Write the measured shift beside the coupon rather than calling it close enough.
