1/8" Multi-Colored Plywood Board Set (12pcs)

I picked up this 12-pack of colored basswood sheets to make custom puzzles for my grandchildren, and they turned out to be a fantastic choice. The dimensions were spot on at 300mm x 300mm x 3mm, just as advertised. The paint colors are vibrant, and unlike some other brands I’ve used, these didn’t have any weird chemical smell, which is a plus. Even better, every sheet in the pack was flawless—no visible defects in the wood or paint. Score!

I used a laser cutter for most of the pieces, and it worked like a charm—no issues at all. After cutting, I did a bit of touch-up painting (totally my fault), lightly sanded a few edges, and finished everything off with a spirit-based clear coat to prevent warping. The end results looked fantastic, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.

Overall, this was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend these plywood sheets. If you’re new to working with basswood, just make sure to store them in a low-humidity, room-temperature environment to keep them in top shape. Happy crafting!

The wood came packaged nicely and co gained 12 sheets that measured 12” square. They are about 1/8” thick and painted with various colors in a matte finish. The paint looks more like a primer than paint.

I used the wood in my laser with the same setting that I use in my birch wood. It did not cut through. I had to add an extra run to cut through.

It did cut clean and it is nice to have the wood already painted. The laser did not,leave any burn marks, the wood is ready to use.

I'm willing to rate this set of colored plywood sheets 4 stars as the colors are very nice and the boards are extremely straight, which means that this set will still be very useful for some projects; however, it won't work if you're looking for an evenly colored background. The basswood is nice quality and is very smooth - even on the edges. I'll try to get some good pictures so it's clear what I mean by the uneven coloring. The pictures come in my opinion, make the boards look as if they’re not flat, but they are flat, it’s just the color’s variations.

These colored plywood sheets arrive well-packaged with shrink wrap and a sturdy box, ensuring minimal damage during shipping. While most pieces are flat, a few have slight twists, but they are flexible enough to work with. Thin wood often experiences some warping when painted or dyed, so this is expected. When layering projects, clamping with weights eliminates any slight bends. Having pre-colored wood on hand makes crafting much quicker. The colors are rich yet allow the wood grain to show through, maintaining a natural look. Each board typically has a better-finished side, so be sure to orient your cuts accordingly. The matte finish allows for customization with a clear coat to achieve your preferred gloss level. These sheets measure approximately 2.5mm thick and 30cm square, consisting of three layers with a sturdy core. The laser cuts cleanly through them, though a few knots may be present in the inner layers. Almost all pieces have at least one excellent side, with most having two.
